I’m sorry I haven’t fixed up everything quite yet, and that blogging has been so light. I’m afraid that I’m running dreadfully behind. So blogging will not be particularly deep for a while.
House, M.D. started up again last night, after its long hiatus while replaced by American Idol. (Offer it up….)
There was irony all over the place. The patient was a woman whose image as a super businesswoman, wife and mom was being maintained by very un-super techniques. Also, after half a year of annoying story arc and this week finally succumbing to temptation, House finally decided to do the right thing about chasing Stacy, who’s a married woman. But it’s anyone’s guess as to why he did it. (I find this realistic. We don’t always understand ourselves — and that’s humbling for Mr. Diagnostician House to admit. Poor guy — staring at his empty whiteboard….)
Meanwhile, the Ducklings (fan name for the diagnostician trainees) had to deal with a patient who shared their deep dark issues. Wilson tried to dissuade House from having an affair when Wilson’s having them all the time. (We also found out that Wilson, who’s always telling House off for breaking rules and depending too much on his painkillers, gives some of his cancer patients marijuana. Definitely illegal in New Jersey. Oooops.) And Cuddy did a hilarious imitation of Stacy — which unwittingly revealed her own feelings about House. (I’m pretty sure that was why House was looking stunned. I know I was….)
The name of the episode was “Need to Know”.
