So this fairly well-to-do woman with four kids is arrested, because she’s allegedly been running a huge brothel service out of her home, over the Internet. (While renting an expensive Manhattan apartment as the brothel meet-site. Her husband’s in real estate, so people are wondering about him, too.)
And we’re supposed to admire her “loyalty” for refusing to give up her client list, when obviously a criminal would be doing that to keep her clients motivated to help her get exonerated. (And possibly because her clients would be motivated to retaliate if she didn’t keep her mouth shut.)
And then we’re supposed to feel sorry for her because she hasn’t been released on (very expensive) bail, when it’s obvious that the police don’t want her home destroying evidence, blackmailing clients, or otherwise continuing to run her nasty business.
And then we’re supposed to feel sorry for her kids being without their mommy, when obviously their mommy (if guilty as charged) is a lowdown snake who shouldn’t be raising any kids, much less four helpless little folks. Madams are a form of human trafficker. It’s potentially a dangerous business also, so she was endangering her kids every day by doing what she did (allegedly). And anyway, what kind of mother can you be, if you yourself are engaged in a life of crime and exploitation? Shouldn’t having kids make you want to be a better person?
This is why I don’t normally watch morning shows, or most mainstream news shows. They’re not news, they never ask even the most obvious questions, and they do give you high blood pressure.
