Pre Vatican II Hats!

See, my mommy didn’t lie to me. Catholic women in the old days did too wear hats.🙂

We actually have a wide variety of female headcoverings here. You see the sisters with their big huge starched wimples (sitting up front just like in the consecrated virgins in the Fathers, which cracks me up), a lady with a scarf tied on her head, and lots of ladies wearing hats. Lots and lots of ’em. Mantillas, not so much. (Wrong parish or time of day for that crowd.)

UPDATE: In Illo Tempore’s blog seems to have disappeared. Darn it, that was a good blog.
