Sinkhole in Toledo Eats Car

A woman drove into a gigantic sinkhole that opened up in the street next to St. Martin de Porres Church in Toledo. The car right before her was barely able to avoid it, but her Malibu wasn’t. She was able to climb out of the deep hole when the nearby fire station sent over a ladder truck. There’s some good video of the rescue operation at the link.

Bancroft and Detroit is a big, big intersection, so this is a big thing.

Beware of hungry sinkholes.

Here’s a great picture of the car down the hole with the driver still in there, from The Toledo Blade.
