It’s Lady Day in August!
If you’re looking for a Catholic feast that’s all about grace and God’s amazing generosity, this is the biggest one after Easter, Christmas, and Pentecost. Even more than the Feast of the Annunciation, this feast is about Jesus’ desire to give us all the eternal happiness we can deal with, and then to add about a zillion times more.
Traditionally, this is a day to go to Mass (Holy Day of Obligation!), and then eat a lot of fruit and enjoy the holiday weather. Swimming or harvest activities may be included, depending on the local climate. (Obviously folks in the southern hemisphere are more likely to be enjoying cold weather activities.)
