St. Isidore of Seville – Nephew of a Queen, Cousin of Royalty

Severian, a rich Roman from Spain, was the father of St. Leander of Seville, St. Isidore of Seville, St. Fulgentius of Ecija (all bishops), and St. Florentina (abbess and nun).

Severian’s sister, Sanctia, was probably the first wife of Theodoric, king of the Ostrogoths.

Her daughters were Aragni/Arevagni (who married Sigismund, possibly the king of the Burgundians), and Theodegotha (who married Alaric III, a king of the Visigoths).
