Rep. Mike Turner has just proposed an amendment to the big defense bill that would change that.

I poked him, he did research and posted, but he can’t comment here from work for some reason.
Long story short, it’s a cross between smacking the military to make sure their pilots have their paperwork in order, and asks the military to be more efficient about applying to fly the drones– and wants yearly reports on how they’re fixing it.
Yay! Thanks to both of you. This is really interesting to know, and a public service for him to be doing. (Man, I go take a nap and y’all are busy….)
